High Volume Textured Backcomb with Skin Fade

High Volume Textured Backcomb with Skin Fade

Get this look:

  • Rough dry wet hair with a towel to remove excess moisture.

  • Apply both a volume boosting product and a thermal protector, to protect your hair from heat and add volume to hair.

  • Comb products through hair.

  • Blow dry hair, using a thermal brush, in the direction that it naturally lays.

  • When you have removed the majority of dampness from your hair, use the brush to begin combing your hair in the opposite direction, using your fingers to lift your hair upwards from the roots.

  • You may also achieve more volume by tilting your head upside down, and blow drying your hair, holding the dryer at a downward angle towards hair.

  • Then, switch your dryer to the cold setting and use your fingers to lift the front layers near your face upwards as you hit them with cool air.

  • When hair is dry, sprinkle a volume powder onto the ends and roots of your hair and use your fingers to work powder through your hair, gently pulling hair upwards.

  • Next, rub a small amount of hair clay or another texturizing, medium to high hold product between hands, and use your fingers to run the product through dry hair, using your fingers to gently pull the hair up from the roots.

  • Then, use fingers to sweep hair slightly back and shape and style hair as desired.

  • Hold style with hairspray.
